Biography

Rebecca received her Bachelor’s Degree in Child and Family Studies at Louisiana State University. She is currently a University of Tennessee, Knoxville Master’s of Social Work student who is working toward her Veterinary Social Work Certificate. Rebecca’s interest in Veterinary Social Work began to take shape early on in high school while spending her summers volunteering at an animal shelter. During undergrad, her interest developed into passion while working at an animal hospital and interning at a Hippotherapy center. It was during this time that Rebecca decided that she was going to pursue a career in Veterinary Social Work. Rebecca’s career goals are to research the effects of animal-assisted therapy on individuals and animals and to also help implement more animal assisted therapy programs. Rebecca is pictured with her dog, Maddox.
