Services Available:
- Outreach calls
- Grief counseling and therapy (individual, couples, family)
- Provide suicide risk assessments and crisis stabilization
- Facilitate a free drop-in Pet Loss Support Group for clients and the community – Facilitation of Animal Caregiver Seminars
- Provide presentations and seminars on veterinary social work and relevant areas of practice for veterinary professionals
- Help clients with making and processing difficult decisions (e.g., quality of life assessment, treatment decisions, end of life care)
- Act as a liaison between clients and the veterinary team
- Be present before, during, and after euthanasia
- Provide referrals and resource brokering to community support services, as needed – Provide educational resources, ritual ideas, and facilitate quarterly pet memorial events
- Provide support, debriefing and compassion fatigue counseling to veterinary professionals, including staff and referring hospitals – Provide de-stressing groups for veterinary staff
