Biography
Rebecca received her bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Studies from Louisiana State University. After receiving her BS, Rebecca attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where she earned her Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW).
Rebecca chose to attend the University of Tennessee MSSW because of her interest in the Veterinary Social Work Certificate Program. Her interest in veterinary social work began to take shape early on in high school while volunteering at an animal shelter. During undergrad, her interest developed into a passion while working at an animal hospital and interning at a hippotherapy center. It was during this time that Rebecca decided that she was going to pursue a career in Veterinary Social Work. While at the University of Tennessee, Rebecca interned with the VSW program at the UT College of Veterinary Medicine. She was also the Veterinary Social Work Graduate Assistant. After obtaining her MSSW in May 2017, Rebecca began working full-time for the Veterinary Social Work Certificate Program. Rebecca passed her Master of Social Work licensure exam (LMSW) in October 2017 and is now pursuing her Advanced Practice Social Work Licensure (LAPSW). Rebecca is pictured with her dog, Maddox.
